But what is amateur radio, you might ask?
Amateur radio or ham radio is a wonderful hobby where technical and less technical people persue their interest in radio to communicate with each other. As a radio amateur, with the right equipment and techniques, you can talk to other amateurs all around the world.
Some build their own antennas and even radio transmitters and receivers, while others buy commercial units. Some enjoy Morse code, while others stick to e.g. voice or data conversations.
An amateur radio certificate is your way into this world, where there are no limits to what you can learn about radio communication. You can participate in contests, communicate through satellites, and much more.
The program consists of 3 afternoons with lectures: July 1st-3rd and examination day on July 4th. The teaching days are aimed at helping you pass the exam and obtain the A-certificate on the final day. The teaching and supplemental information is in Danish, but Q and A can be in English. The Examination itself is also in Danish, and do not allow internet, programmable devices etc.
We use the book “VTS - Vejen til Sendetilladelsen (The Road to the License)” which can be purchased at shop.edr.dk or rented from PRG if we have enough copies.
At June 16 at the latest, if you want to participate in the examination, you have to sign up at: https://virk.dk/myndigheder/stat/Digitaliseringsstyrelsen/selvbetjening/Ansoegning_om_tilladelse_til_frekvensanvendelse/ you need you MitID login and there is a test fee of 623 kr.
